A bad day

It was supposed to be a Sunday for new tutorials, but PSP was not helping.
I just finished re-installing it and, if I get lucky, I will have something done.
Let's see!

Here is something I did last week that I like very much!

We were leaving the Field Museum when I took this picture. Nicholas wasn't smiling for the picture, neither looking at me, but I love to see him looking like a big boy. Behind him the most beautiful and blue sky and Chicago's tall buildings.
Nicholas and I love big cities and Chicago has a lot for us!

First Tutorial

I have been playing with PSP since June and these have been wonderful months; a lot of people have been teaching me lots of new things and I am very thankful.

Special thanks to Kathleen from Gamock's and her wonderful Tutorials, Janet King from University of Tubing who has been teaching me how to tube and Jan Daelman, who made me feel brave enough to write my first Tutorial (My Monogram) that will be tested and released soon.

Images and Poems

I think that we write poems with colors and shapes.

Every time we pick a graphic and start thinking about its colors and what to do with it we are creating visual poems.

Poetry makes life easier. Poets say what we wanted to say. They just find a better way.

Sometimes poets have just the perfect word and it is not about a rhyme, it's about the feeling.

Here is a page I made some time ago.

It's me on the picture and I was at Grandma's House. I believe I was two or close to it...

The page has a verse from "Leilão de Jardim", a children's poem by Cecilia Meireles, a Brazilian writer.

A long time ago

I started Scrapbooking a long time ago.
After Nicholas was born I decided to stay home for some time, so I had to find something to keep my hands and some of my brain cells busy. With Watertown being such a small city and with me being away from my country, my family and my friends, it was time to look for something to make my days more colorful!
At that point it was hard to manage life in a different country, being a wife, a mom and not being as active as before, since I was not working anymore.
A lot has changed since then, but my passion for images and softwares that let me play with them just gets bigger!
I can't understand life without art. It's the most perfect language!
Speaking about language, I must tell you that I am not a native English speaker. I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and lived there for over 30 years. Please forgive my mistakes...
My family is my inspiration, specially my son, who is the light of my days!
Let's get this started, right?

I hope this will be a place to meet new creative friends!

Sincerely,

Adri Hollenbeck
